Swift’s move to re-record and re-release her albums, labelling them as “Taylor’s Version” seem to have paved the way for a historic change in the world of music. On the other side of the Atlantic ocean Taylor Swift regained control of her creative work, meaning not only to her musical works but also to the master recordings. Although there is an interesting backstory explaining this decision of Taylor Swift, in this webinar we will focus on the legal grounds that made it possible. More interestingly, we will examine whether this would be also legally possible in EU. Copyright, licensing, and commercial transactions form an exciting world, and this case confirms it.
